1. What We Do
PropelAgent ("we", "our", "us") provides an AI-powered customer service platform. Our Shopify integration allows merchants to connect their Shopify store so that their AI chatbot can answer customer questions about products, pricing, and availability.
2. Data We Collect
When a merchant installs our app, we access the following data via the Shopify Admin API:
- Product data: titles, descriptions, prices, variants, SKUs, inventory levels, images, tags, and handles.
- Store metadata: shop domain name (e.g., yourstore.myshopify.com).
We do not access or store: customer personal information, order details, payment information, shipping addresses, or any other personally identifiable information (PII) of the merchant's customers.
3. How We Use the Data
- Product catalog data is converted into text chunks and stored in a secure vector database.
- These chunks are used as context for the merchant's AI chatbot to answer product-related questions.
- We do not sell, share, or transfer merchant data to third parties.
- Product data is only used within the scope of the merchant's own chatbot instance.
4. Data Storage & Security
- Data is stored on secure infrastructure hosted by Supabase (PostgreSQL with row-level security) and Railway.
- OAuth access tokens are stored encrypted and are never exposed to client-side code.
- All data transmission uses TLS 1.2+ encryption.
- Access is restricted to the merchant's own account within PropelAgent.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
When a merchant disconnects the Shopify integration or uninstalls the app:
- All product data chunks are immediately deleted from our vector database.
- The OAuth access token is invalidated and removed.
- The data connection record is marked as inactive.
- Upon receiving a shop/redact GDPR webhook (48h after uninstall), all remaining traces are purged.
6. Merchant Rights
Merchants can at any time:
- Disconnect the integration from their PropelAgent dashboard to immediately stop data syncing and delete stored product data.
- Uninstall the app from their Shopify admin panel.
- Request a full data export or deletion by contacting us.
7. Customer Data
We do not collect, process, or store any personal data from the merchant's end customers. Our integration only accesses product catalog information. End customers interacting with the AI chatbot are subject to the merchant's own privacy policy.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the integration after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
